Nova-Eco installed 2 NRG wind masts on Western (60m) and Eastern (45m) sites in 2006 and now has almost 5 years of raw wind data.

To validate and evaluate its wind data, NOVA ECO has contracted EMD International A/S (www.emd.dk) of Denmark, one of the most experienced and internationally recognized wind consultancies, who have conducted wind resource assessment, micro-siting and bankable annual energy production assessments on over 700 wind farm projects worldwide with a planned capacity of more than 35,000 MW since 1998.

Methodology Overview

Wind speed at hub height (80 meters) has been extrapolated by EMD, based on the data obtained from Nova-Eco’s on-site wind masts.

The position of the masts was verified by EMD during the site visits.

Eastern Site: Average extrapolated wind speed at 80m up to 8.5 m/s

Western Site: Average extrapolated wind speed at 80m up to 7.5 m/s

EMD has been continuously improving energy yield estimates for both WPP 100 and WPP 200, having analyzed arrays of updated wind data.
