project_status

The Project consists of the following main components:  

  • Construction of the WPPs and all the internal connections and roads
  • Construction and/or modernization of overhead transmission lines
  • Construction and/or modernization of electricity substations needed for interconnection to the National Power Grid (“NPG”)

 

Up to date, the project has reached the following milestiones:

  • Feasibility Study (2007) and Project Study (2008) received positive conclusions from the Central State Service “Ukrinvestexpertise”
  • Environmental Impact Assessment (incl. botany, ornithology, herpetology, geology) completed and approved by the State Committee for Ecological Evaluation (2007)
  • Letter of Approval of the Joint implementation (JI) Project under Kyoto Protocol was received (2007) and Option agreement for sale of Emission Reduction Units prepared
  • Interconnection contract with NEC “Ukrenergo” signed for interconnection to the backbone power grid.
  • NEC “Ukrenergo” issued technical requirements and approved technical tasks in compliance with the contract
  • Permissions and approvals received from local organizations (sanitary and epidemiologic inspection service, fire inspectorate, road service organizations etc.) and local government authorities (2007-2008)
  • Electricity Production License for electricity generation issued in 2008 by NERC
  • Membership with the Wholesale Electricity Market acquired in 2009
  • Construction Permit granted in 2010 (preliminary phase, Western site)
  • ABB and ELTEL Networks approved for EPC
  • 3 rounds of WTG tender completed (2006, 2009, 2011)
